Building a Toy Theatre
This is a small movie by Bob Seal (www.bobseal.com) who told me that he is picking up the toy theatre hobby again. Many newcomer have questions about how to build a theatre and therefore I thought it a good idea to start an, irregular, series on the technical aspects of the toy theatre.
First let me make clear that this is not THE way to do things. It is just our way of doing things.
Definition:
A toy theatre is a tool for story telling. It is not a miniature train or a dolls-house, both having uses on their own. A toy theatre is useless if not used for performing. Therefore it should be of practical design.
In this issue we start out making the simplest of theatres in which you can still perform and from there we will go and spoil things by making it more complicated.
One thing we will need is a proscenium and a curtain. Both can be downloaded by clicking the thumbnail to the right. Note that the proscenium is in 2 parts of A4 size.
